Sandford Post Office Proposed for Closure - but Carey Road Post Office Retained1.26.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 15th Jul 2008
Your Local MP, Annette Brooke, is very concerned about the impact of the closure on elderly people in Sandford and those who are unable to drive. The publication of the news was due to be on July 15th but was published in the Daily Echo on Saturday. Various Tory MP's were quoted in the article but Annette was not contacted on the matter. The Liberal Democrat team want to hear your views. If you wish to object about the proposed closure of Sandford Post Office you must write to: National Consultation Team Post Office Ltd FREEPOST CONSULTATION TEAM (no stamp required) during the six week consultation period which runs from Tuesday July 15th to Monday September 1st. Remember the Tories closed 4,000 Post Offices when in power, Labour have already closed 3,500 Post Offices, and now there is a danger that Labour will take the Post Office Card Account away from the Post Offices. If this happens even more Post Offices will close in the future.
